Want to be the first with tickets to the Royal International Air Tattoo 2012?
In that case you may be interested to know that the winner of this years calendar competition will be the first with a pair of tickets to RIAT 2012 AND a DVD of RIAT 2011.
The Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) is the world’s largest military air show, held annually over the third weekend in July, usually at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, United Kingdom in support of The Royal Air Force Charitable Trust. The show typically attracts a total of 150,000 to 200,000 spectators over the weekend.
RIAT 2011 will be held on 16-17 July 2011. This year’s Air Tattoo will look back over the past four decades as it celebrates the show’s 40th anniversary with a series of special aerial displays and ground entertainment. It will also host a gathering of specially-decorated ‘Tiger’ aircraft from the NATO Tiger Association. ‘Tiger’ aircraft come from NATO squadrons that have a Tiger or Big Cat in their emblem and their association marks its 50th anniversary in 2011.

This years Calendar Competition is now officially open!
Discussions are now taking place with prospective sponsors, and I am hoping to begin making announcements with regard to prize allocation within the next few weeks. The competition is open each year before the prizes start rolling in as early bird interest helps with sponsorship. So if you have a photograph taken at an airshow last season you may of course enter it into this years competition as one of your two permitted entries. You second entry however MUST be taken during the 2011 Airshow season.
There is a single small change to the rules for this year; all entries submitted must be in the 2 * 1 landscape format - vertical or square formats will be rejected. This change is brought about by the need to ensure all entries are judged on the same basis, and not to expect judges to decide if there is a suitable crop within an entry.
Prize allocation is expected to be the same as last year e.g. 1st, 2nd and 3rd, with 3 runner up places. Please ensure to read all rules before submission.
Good Luck, and I look forward to receiving your entries.

Great news as this years prize pot passes £600. Ebury Publishing have confirmed 3 copies of the “Boys Book of Airfix” (retailing at £20 each) as runners up prizes in this years Calendar Competition.
Free advertising again for the top 3 places on ANY Uradnet banner network - worth £12.50 each.
This years total prize pot now stands at £605 - with half going to the first prize winner.
I am still expecting to add more prizes during the coming weeks - so keep a look out and remember.. you gotta be in it to win it!
Good Luck, and I look forward to receiving your entries.

Icom UK Ltd have generously given us another handful of 1GB Memory sticks towards this years calendar competition, these will go some way towards ensuring that all winning entries receive a prize in this years competition.
Icom are a leader in PC controlled scanners such as the PCR1500, and its more advanced variants such as the PCR2500. Icom also manufacture a cracking range of handheld scanners such as the IC-R5 and IC-R20 - these are so good at what they do; they are often advertised by suppliers as Airband Scanners, even though they in fact have full spectrum coverage. The amazing Icom IC-R3 stands alone, being the first scanner to come with a 2 inch screen for viewing live TV or wireless camera broadcasts. For more details please visit http://www.icomuk.co.uk
Further prizes are expected in the near future, so prize allocation table is incomplete and is likely to change as more prizes are received. http://www.airscene.co.uk/competitions/2010calendar.php
