{"id":3124,"date":"2025-04-25T12:51:58","date_gmt":"2025-04-25T12:51:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.airscene.co.uk\/news\/?p=3124"},"modified":"2025-04-25T12:51:58","modified_gmt":"2025-04-25T12:51:58","slug":"victory-in-europe-80th-anniversary-at-army-flying-museum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.airscene.co.uk\/news\/aviation-news-uk\/aviation-museum-news\/victory-in-europe-80th-anniversary-at-army-flying-museum\/","title":{"rendered":"Victory in Europe 80th Anniversary at Army Flying Museum"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.airscene.co.uk\/article-images-25\/Spitfire-Middle-Wallop.jpeg\" alt=\"Spitfire at Middle Wallop\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Army Flying Museum at Middle Wallop in Hampshire will be encouraging visitors to join them from the 8<sup>th<\/sup> May to commemorate VE Day 2025.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Museum will be staging a very special temporary display which will feature Second World War highlights from the Museum\u2019s collection.&nbsp; Visitors will be able to see artefacts and documents that provide a unique insight into Army aviation during the global conflict, along with excerpts from recordings of those who were there.&nbsp; Many of the items in the exhibition will not have been on public display before, therefore offering a unique opportunity to even the most regular of visitors to the Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A stunning soundtrack of words and music will be played in the breathtaking Hayward Hall from the 8<sup>th<\/sup> \u2013 10<sup>th<\/sup> May, giving visitors a chance to remember, commemorate and reflect whilst admiring the amazing aircraft on display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Friday 9<sup>th<\/sup> May, the Museum will host a very special talk by Military Historian \u2013 Paul Beaver \u2013 Middle Wallop in the War Years.&nbsp; Most people know Middle Wallop for its Battle of Britain connection, but its history during the Second World War was varied and fascinating. From flying Poles to American fighters, the airfield had many users in five years of conflict.
