{"id":2906,"date":"2024-07-22T18:41:18","date_gmt":"2024-07-22T18:41:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.airscene.co.uk\/news\/?p=2906"},"modified":"2024-07-22T18:41:18","modified_gmt":"2024-07-22T18:41:18","slug":"dazzling-displays-and-memorable-moments-as-thousands-enjoy-historic-royal-international-air-tattoo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.airscene.co.uk\/news\/aviation-news-uk\/uk-airshow-news\/dazzling-displays-and-memorable-moments-as-thousands-enjoy-historic-royal-international-air-tattoo\/","title":{"rendered":"Dazzling displays and memorable moments as thousands enjoy historic Royal International Air Tattoo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.airscene.co.uk\/article-images-24\/RIAT-Red-Arrows.jpg\" alt=\"RIAT Red Arrows\" border=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After selling-out at a record pace the Royal International Air Tattoo proved to be a hit as hundreds of aircraft soared over RAF Fairford in front of thousands of visitors.<\/p>\n<p>In total, the aviation showcase welcomed 248 aircraft from 29 nations as 150,000 people descended on the rural airfield.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, as part of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation\u2019s (NATO) 75th anniversary, visitors were treated to a unique flypast featuring aircraft from different NATO nations together, led by a Royal Air Force Rivet Joint.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday saw history being made as the Royal Air Force Typhoon completed its first public display on sustainable aviation fuel, as well as celebrations for both the Royal Canadian Air Force\u2019s centenary and the F-16 Fighting Falcon, which turned 50-years old this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chief Executive Officer for Royal Air Force Charitable Trust Enterprises, Paul Atherton said<\/strong>: \u201cThis year has been a stellar event, with highlights across the weekend.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have been delighted with the level of support and I\u2019d like to say thank you to everyone involved in facilitating our event, from visitors, aircrew, staff members and volunteers \u2013 without them, we wouldn\u2019t be able to host the Royal International Air Tattoo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On the ground, there was plenty for people to get involved with as the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust, RIAT\u2019s parent charity, provided a booster line-up for the Inspire Stage with Tom Fletcher, Jessica Gagen and Grace Webb all speaking to young people about their experiences with aviation.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets for next year\u2019s show are already on sale, with next year\u2019s Air Tattoo due to take place on 18th, 19th and 20th of July.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWork is already well underway for next year\u2019s event and we look forward to sharing our plans with you in the coming months,\u201d added Paul.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe would love to have you join us here at RAF Fairford next summer and with tickets already on sale, now is the best time to secure your place for the best possible price.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tickets are available via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.AirTattoo.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.AirTattoo.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After selling-out at a record pace the Royal International Air Tattoo proved to be a hit as hundreds of aircraft soared over RAF Fairford in front of thousands of visitors.
