Ridgewell Airfield Commemorative Museum

Ridgewell Airfield museum houses a growing private collection of items relating to the history of 90 Squadron RAF, 1942 to 1943, and the 381st Bomb Group, USAAF, who were stationed at Ridgewell from 1943 to 1945.

The museum is housed in what was once the base hospital. Our collection includes many wartime items including uniforms, personal effects, photographs and wartime memorabilia connected mainly to the 381st Bomb Group.

The Ridgewell Airfield Commemorative Museum exists to remember those who served at RAF Ridgewell - Essex’s only long-term heavy bomber base during the Second World War.
