Boxted Airfield Museum

Boxted was home to the 386th BG, 354th FG, 56th FG, and after the second world war, the RAF.

Legendary pilots flew from here; Francis Gabreski, Bob Johnson, Hub Zemke.

The museum is dedicated to all the men from Boxted that made the ultimate sacrifice and our chapel area records their names.

The museum was opened by Henry Farwell (veteran of the 386th Bombardment Group) on May 29th 2011.

Attractions include the largest collection of B26 Marauder aircraft parts in the UK featuring a large section of fuselage, a restored V2 rocket motor, and a Royal Observer Corps display, and a Link Trainer under restoration.

A third building is now open containing a new Marauder display and a new display of Second World War military uniforms.
